1. หาประโยคง่าย ๆพร้อมคำแปล เช่น I read books – ฉันอ่านหนังสือ. He goes to the library – เขาไปห้องสมุด. Children stayed up late last night. – เด็กอยู่ดึกเมื่อคืน จำนวน คนละ 10 ประโยค แล้วฝึกแปลปากเปล่าทันทีหลังจากเพื่อนที่เราจับคู่อ่านจบประโยค ให้สลับกันทำ รวม 20 ประโยค แล้วจับเวลา

1. จับคู่ทดลองทำล่ามแล้วจับเวลา สรุปว่าปัญหาอะไรที่ทำให้แปลไม่ทัน

Tom: Without doubt, one of the biggest concerns facing planet earth today is the issue of climate change.

Pat:    สิ่งที่น่ากลัวมากที่สุดในโลกเวลานี้ก็คือ ภาวะโลกร้อนนั่นเอง

Tom:   Well. The first thing we can do to help solve the problem is to admit that we all contribute to Global Warming. Once we realize this, then we can start to er… address the problem.

Pat: สิ่ง แรกที่เราทำได้เพื่อช่วยแก้ไขสถานการณ์ก็คือ เราต้องยอมรับก่อนว่า เราทุกคนมีส่วนในการสร้างปัญหาโลกร้อน และเมื่อเรายอมรับความจริงตรงนี้แล้ว เราก็จะสามารถ เอ่อ หาทางออกให้กับปัญหาได้

Tom:    Fortunately, some important people have made it their life’s mission
to tackle the problem and spread the word on this worrying situation.

People like former US politician Al Gore.

Pat:     นับว่ายังโชคดีที่มีผู้ใหญ่ใจดีบางคน ที่อุทิศตนให้กับการหาทางแก้ปัญหาโลกร้อน
เช่นคุณ อัล กอร์ อดีตรองประธานาธิบดีของสหรัฐอเมริกา

Tom:     Ah, the most important thing is to get the message out to as many people as possible. Not to scare them, but to encourage everyone to do their own little bit
to help improve the situation. And I believe that Mr. Gore has done such a good job
in explaining this drastic situation.

Pat: อ่า สิ่ง สำคัญที่สุดก็คือ เราต้องช่วยกันเผยแพร่และรณรงค์ ให้คนเข้าใจปัญหาให้มากที่สุด ไม่ใช่เพื่อให้ทุกคนหวาดกลัว แต่เป็นการเชิญชวนให้ร่วมมือกันคนละเล็กละน้อย เพื่อช่วยให้สถานการณ์ดีขึ้น เช่นเดียวกับคุณอัล กอร์ ซึ่งผมคิดว่าเขาทำได้ดีมากๆ เลยในการเผยแพร่เรื่องนี้ไปทั่วโลก

Tom:   Well, as we said in the beginning, the first thing we have to do is to admit that we all contribute to global warming then we can start to change our habits.

Pat:   เอ้อ   ก็อยากที่พูดไปก่อนหน้านี้ เราต้องยอมรับก่อนว่าเรามีส่วนก่อปัญหาโลกร้อน เมื่อรู้เช่นนั้นแล้ว เราก็จะสามารถเปลี่ยนพฤติกรรมของเรากับเพื่อน ๆ เพื่อแก้ปัญหาได้

Tom: So there is still hope and we certainly hope that you are willing to
join the campaign to help slow down and eventually stop global warming.

Pat: อย่างนี้ก็แปลว่าเรายังมีความหวังอยู่นะครับ และเราก็หวังด้วยว่า

Tom: If you’ve not already seen the movie An Inconvenient Truth
we seriously recommend you view it at least once.
